Film Review: Can I Ever Forgive You

Not exactly a new release, I think it came out a couple of weeks ago, but my first opportunity to squeeze it in.

Based on the true story of Lee Israel, the author turned to letter forger, this was a perfectly acceptable film. It’s a film that you can’t really criticize, it was relatively short so passes by without feeling like it dragged, the performances were good, it was both funny, and sad, etc.

It has been nominated and won quite a number of awards, so perhaps I should be more generous in my praise, but for me it was a good, but not outstanding film. I enjoyed it, and it is a film I would happy recommend.

Three and a half stars
